At age 54 and with the assistance from her Pell Grant, Jeanette says she is striving to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She was working full time and going to college part-time until she was disabled in a job-related accident, says Jeanette, adding that since her accident she has depended on Social Security Disability benefits to survive.

Once she graduates and begins her career, “I will be able to discontinue receiving government aid and work for a living once again.” #DoublePell would mean that “many more marginalized individuals will be able to have the same opportunity.”
