Emily has faced many obstacles in the pursuit of higher education, but she has not let that stop her. One year ago, Emily was hit by a car while riding her bike. Since the accident she has suffered from the effects of a traumatic brain injury, stroke, and severe amnesia. After recuperating from her injuries, Emily was determined to finish her degree.

Emily says that the money provided by the Pell Grant has “allowed me to work less and spend it focusing on my education and my two children.” #DoublePell “would directly impact our family dynamic and reduce the financial tension we encounter living on only one steady income. I could not be more thankful for what the Pell Grant has provided so far.”
