Deliana had worked for a nonprofit for almost 12 years and had a son before deciding to reenroll in college, with her baby providing the push she needed. “I believe in order to be successful I needed to be in a place to refine the skills I have gained throughout the years…Not only has going back to college empowered me to be my best self, but it has also helped me to create my own career opportunities.”

Deliana’s ultimate goal is develop her own nonprofit for minority students and create programs that “empowers the youth to be who they are meant to be in the world.” The Pell Grant, she said, has “allowed me to focus on continuing my education without a huge financial burden.” #DoublePell “would allow me to continue and complete my goal of earning my B.A without the worry of choosing between college and being able to support my family.”
