Andrea Hudson
Greenville University, IL
Andrea says she is a first-generation college student with a brother who also attends college. She says she is an “overachieving opportunist” who is involved with two sports, the marching band, and two clubs in addition to maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher as she studies psychology, with an ultimate goal of going to medical school and becoming a psychiatrist.
“Without the Pell Grant I have received, this goal that I am reaching for would have been nearly impossible,” Andrea says. “Looking into my near future, if Congress decides to double the Pell Grant, my brother and I will be able to attend school at a very low cost, allowing the both of us to graduate with little to no debt. Freeing not only my brother and I, but also my parents, financially.”
