Chloe, who was raised by her grandparents, says she never wanted to her family to worry about the costs of going to college. “Even though I wanted to pursue something I loved, my biggest fear was that I would burden them with my own college expenses.”

She adds, “With a double Pell Grant, I would no longer have to worry about the financial stresses put on my family in order to afford college. I work a full-time summer job and a part-time job in school to be able to afford my expenses.”

Chloe plans on attending graduate school to earn a master’s degree in sociology, with a concentration in criminology.
