Vivian says she is a first generation college student who enrolled in college “because I was inspired by my teachers that were committed to helping me seek out my passion and further my education. They showed me that I could be a light for future students who were just like me.” Her goal is to teach public school music education, and eventually become a school administrator.

Pell Grants have already made college more affordable and minimized the amount of student loan debt she is taking on. #DoublePell would make a further significant contribution, she says.“If Congress were to double the Pell Grant, I would not need to take any student loans to finish college, and it would put my family and me at ease to know I could afford the costs of furthering my education without gaining more debt.”
