I have more in me to give; more passion, more love, more hope, more healing, to name a few,” Brianna says. But, “if it wasn't for the Pell Grant, I would not have even thought about attending college. My first year of college my mother was beginning cancer treatment and we spent what I had saved for my college on her medical bills that seemingly never diminish. Brianna has set big goals for herself, a Master’s in biomedical sciences, an M.D., and becoming a surgical oncologist who can use those specialized skills to work with nonprofit organizations like Doctors Without Borders and help individuals in need.

But Brianna is juggling a lot to pursue her academic and professional aspirations. This past semester, she took on 21 credit hours and worked three jobs totaling 30 plus hours a week.
